Ms. Carrier-Walker is Director of Development and External Relations for the International Council of Nurses (ICN). In this capacity she oversees ICN’s development, external relations, corporate communications, and advocacy initiatives with members and a wide variety of NGO, UN and corporate partners. From 1999-2008, she was also the Manager for the secretariat of the World Health Professions Alliance, bringing together ICN, the World Medical Association, the International Pharmaceutical Federation and the World Dental Federation.
Ms. Carrier-Walker is a member of the Board of the World Economic Forum Global Health Advisory Board, the Management Committee of the Geneva Social Observatory and the Editorial Board of the International Nursing Review. She has served on the Board of Directors of the International Children’s Institute, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR Quebec) and the Centre d'Action SIDA Montréal (Femmes). Ms. Carriier-Walker has worked as a journalist for several Canadian media outlets, as faculty at the Carleton University School of Journalism and as a senior communications advisor for a global communications company. A Canadian citizen, Ms. Carrier-Walker works and lives in Geneva, Switzerland.
