The World Health Organization recently updated its treatment guidelines for HIV/AIDS. The efforts to start treatment earlier are laudable, but the guidelines failed to specifically address high-risk groups such as MSM, sex workers and injecting drug users. Most disconcertingly, the WHO's acceptance that resources are scarce for HIV/AIDS invites cutbacks and jeopardizes human health.
